FRANK SULTANA & THE SINISTER KIDS

Sat 24th Oct 8:30pm $15

Tipping his hat to the great Mississippi delta bluesmen of the 1930s as well as the reckless abandon of the 1960s...ranging from Son House and Skip James, through to Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones, as well as more contemporary artists like Tom Waits and Nick Cave, Frank Sultana dwells comfortably in this vintage stylistic world, where the song is still king, and nothing beats a great story.

JEMMA & THE CLIFTON HILLBILLIES

FRI 9TH OCTOBER 8:30PM $12

Following two single launches, a video for 'April's Fool', and two years since their first EP, sweethearts of the Melbourne alt-country community, Jemma & The Clifton Hillbillies release their debut full-length album this September 2015. Engineered and produced by Sean McMahon, and recorded around the very table where the songs were written, wine was poured, love bloomed, musicians met, and bonds were forged in the fires of country music, the highly-anticipated recording showcases the group's talent for heart-on-sleeve confessional booth song-writing married with a wondrous Stone Country style. With a Loretta for posture, and a Patsy for feeling, ever the bookie's daughter, Jemma Rowlands offers grand odds on love, life and raw emotion.

CHRIS RUSSELL'S CHICKEN WALK

Grand Final Eve Fri 2nd Oct 8:30pm $20

BOOK NOW http://www.trybooking.com/JFYE

Kick off grand final weekend with BANG!

Two days after the rip-roaring ‘Swimsuit’ single tour wrapped up Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk should be taking a break. BUT NO. As evidenced in their new album’s title – *Drive – *they are keeping on keeping on with the album set for release on October 9 and the first run of dates for a burgeoning album tour now revealed.

Elemental, natural and supernatural, full of hurricanes, mermaids and femme fatales, *Drive *comes on like scenes from a southern gothic neo-noir. There's vice, danger and beauty everywhere. Venous snakes, all night diners, armed hold ups, mermaids and demons.

Previous album *Shakedown *had press-bots yelling things like, “Chris Russell is the master” [Sydney Morning Herald], ““Raw, sweaty…dangerous. ★★★★” [The Age] and “Chris Russell’s constant and irresistible four to the floor blues guitar and howling voice get stronger and stronger with each performance.” [Unpaved].

THE STETSON FAMILY & JAMES KENYON

The Stetson Family & James Kenyon Aug 22nd Doors 8:30pm

It's been two years coming, making it's way through hell and high water, and now The Stetson Family are thrilled to be launching their third album, True North.

True North is bluegrassy with more than a hint of down-home Americana and is full of all the things we've come to expect from the Stetsons, lots of harmonies and tales of murder, mayhem and the human heart.

Joining them on this album are 'extended family' members, Suzannah Espie and Liz Stringer on a BV or two, Nick O'Mara bringing home some steel guitar, Gleny Rae's awesome fiddlin' and Bree Hartley adding some percussion to the mix.

Come along to Major Toms on Saturday 22nd August and help us celebrate - look to the stars and head True North!

James Kenyon was born and raised in South Australia, but now lives in sunny Melbourne. Self-described as alt-country folk-grass indie heat-haze dream scape am radio highway songs.
