Relays

Fri 10th Jan 8:30pm

Special guests W.O.M.B.A.T

Relays, a punk band hailing from Bendigo on DJAARA country, have finally released their highly anticipated self-titled debut album.

Known for their unapologetically abrasive sound and non-politically correct lyrics, Relays offer a gritty take on the realities of middle to low-income Australia.

The album features a collection of hard-hitting tracks, including the standout “No One Fu#ks Me Like The ATO,” a scathing commentary on the frustration of paying taxes to a government entity that feels increasingly out of touch. Another notable track, “Eshay,” captures the tension of feeling unsafe at suburban train stations, taking aim at the invasive ‘Eshay’ subculture infiltrating modern suburbia.

The debut album was recorded live to two-inch tape at Head Gap Studio in Preston, with producer Shann Lions insisting on a ‘no bullsh#t overdubs’ approach. “Punk shouldn’t be too polished,” Lions stated, and this ethos is evident throughout the unfiltered sound of the album.

Billy Barker/ Anna Schneider/ Claudia Joy/ Jack Davies

Sun 15th Dec 2pm TICKETS

Acclaimed West Australian songwriters Jack Davies and Anna Schneider will be joining forces with the heart wrenching ballads of Billy Barker(VIC) and Claudie Joy(TAS/WA), for a collaborative tour along the fringes of Victoria. This will be an intimate evening of songs, stories and warmly coloured lamps.

Details...

- (AFTERNOON SHOW) 2pm entry. Finished by approx 5pm.

Performers...

Jack Davies
Following the release of Jack’s debut solo album “Orange Moon Glow”, a collection of heartwrenching, and sometimes witty ballads, the West Australian folk singer will be touring back across the country. Playing a string of intimate acoustic shows, showcasing new songs, poems and loosely strung together sentences. Well known for his band "Jack Davies and The Bush Chooks", the group have toured extensively across Australia. Be sure not to miss his unique blend of spoken word, folk picking, sad singing and indi acoustic weirdery.

Claudie Joy
Taking inspiration from beloved storytellers such as Haley Heynderickx and Adrianne Lenker, Claudie paints together thoughtful words and poignant guitar into the delightful mess of sincerity, honesty and obscurity that has seen her charm audiences across the country. After selling out a string of shows in WA with her 7 piece group "Claudie Joy & the Joy Boys", and releasing their debut EP, Claudie made the move to TAS to pursue new opportunities, bringing with her a finely woven blanket of songs. Musical moments that reach in deep to the ever so tender parts of our lives.

Anna Schneider
As her first note floats out into the air, hair on the backs of necks rise and chatter simmers to stunned silence; Walyalup singer-songwriter Anna Schneider has you pulled in, and as she plays on, you’ll want to be nowhere else. The earnest elegance of Anna’s songwriting, which slips between folk and indie with alt-country touchstones, appears tantalizingly effortless, true, and endearingly demanding of your attention. Wrapping up 2023 with two industry nominations for ‘Best Vocalist’ and ‘Best Folk/Singer-Songwriter act’ at the WAM awards and a premiere for her music videoCrush’ on ABC’s rage, Anna’s latest single ‘Shiny Thing’, has cemented Anna as a true vocal rarity and an artist to be entranced by.

Billy Barker
With a sound that lands somewhere between Gareth Liddiard and Jeff Buckley, Billy Barkers live show can leave you feeling amused, pissed off and heartbroken within the same pint of beer. With a crowd grabbing presence, Alt-folk singer-songwriter Billy Barker takes audiences down that wondrous and gritty road of everyday life. Over the last five years Billy has repeatedly filled popular Melbourne venues, country pubs and festival stages with his rich catalogue of songs. The pandemic years saw a return home to Victoria’s rugged coastline where he’d first picked up a guitar, inspired by the songs of Dylan and Cohen. There, he’s built a studio, released a record of lost tracks and started recording a new album set for release in 2025. “A stunning songwriter with a pure and timeless voice.” Blake Scott of Peep Tempel.

The Great Divides and Snowy

Sat 14th Dec 8:30pm

Both Snowy and The Great Divides of the Naarm “jumble pop” scene released brand new albums on the very same day. To celebrate this happy accident the two acts are touring the East of the country to launch “Philharmonic” and “(I’m sure)” together in a series of special collaborative shows.

“Philharmonic” is the latest Snowy side-quest - conceived of as album in-full while touring the US earlier in 2024; recorded quickly and chaotically in over the Spring months, the album’s music is brought to life, live by the “Snowy Philharmonic” - a orchestral jumble collective.

Informed by their regional background, The Great Divides explore the themes of isolation and the expanse of landscape as well as the discordant nature of city living on this new release, reflecting their experiences over the past few years. Partly recorded outdoors, ‘(i’m sure)’ is a tentative declaration of intent that they’ll find a way no matter the obstacle. Teetering towards falling apart and then exploding out in a cacophony of sound.

William Alexander and Charlotte Le Lievre

Sat 30th Nov 8:30pm

William Alexander - Cattle camp crooner and balladeer, William Alexander sings with a true heart. William, who makes his living as a stockman in the Central West region of NSW, sings with a maturity beyond his years. Having learned to sing harmonies in church with his father, music has always been in his blood. His strong voice and guitar playing, partnered with his life and experience working the land and livestock, make the magic in his ballads all the more authentic. William's 2024 record 'The Singing Stockmen' debuted at #2 on the AIR 100% Independent album charts and was an ABC country feature album.

Charlotte Le Lievre - With her lilting voice and timeless sensibilities, Charlotte Le Lievre makes music that hits the heart in the unique tradition of classic country songwriters. Her songs strive to connect with the authenticity of human experience, navigating grief, joy and collective struggle. Drawing upon an array of early country and folk styles, Charlotte and band wholeheartedly pay homage to the origins of this music, whilst offering up insightful commentary on contemporary dilemmas. Charlotte's debut album 'Songs from the Barrier Line' (2023) was nominated for Best Country Work at the 2023 Music Victoria Awards and Contemporary Folk Music Album of the Year at the 2023 Australian Folk Music Awards.

ANDY GOLLEDGE

Fri Nov 22nd 8:30pm with Kyneton Country Revue

When Andy Golledge performs, people take notice. Many years of performing live has honed his skills in knowing how to write a killer song and knowing how to knock an audience off their feet. Off the back of a national full band tour celebrating the latest record Young, Dumb & Wild, Andy Golledge is keen to hit the road again for a mix of full band and stripped back shows.

Andy Golledge has carved out a niche as Sydney's king of alt-country, and it only takes half an hour with the man and his band to see exactly why that is. Golledge's music is boozy, rowdy and rocking, but simultaneously heartfelt and personal. Beyond the quasi-ironic yeehaw agenda, that's really what country music is all about." (Music Feeds)

His name is folklore in regional NSW and inner Sydney, both for the exhilarating unpredictability of his live shows and the curveballs of his repertoire, genre-hopping between 60s country and classic rock & roll. The band consists of some of the most respected musicians in the alt country/Americana scene in Australia, with a show that can take you from tender to tears, to rollicking and dancing wildly. His shows are word class, polished and ready to grab the attention of broader audiences.

2024 saw Golledge release his highly anticipated sophomore album Young, Dumb & Wild with the band touring the new record to ecstatic fans all around the country. YD&W and its singles (‘Country Band’, ‘Lovin’ Myself’ (ft. Sweet Talk), ‘Young, Dumb & Wild) received incredible support across national and community radio; achieving Feature Album of the Week on ABC Country, as well as features and additions on Double J, 2SER, CMT Australia to name a few. The titular track of the album also debuted at #45 on the Country Radio Airplay charts.

Golledge has made notable performances at BIGSOUND and SXSW Sydney, as well as various festivals such as Out Here in the Field Festival, Meadow Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Winter Bites, Splendour In The Grass, Groundwater Country Music Festival, Euroa Music Festival, Falls Festival, Riverboats Festival, Boogie Festival, Gympie Music Muster and more.

You don’t want to miss the Andy Golledge experience!
