MOODY BEACHES

Fri 5th Oct 8:30pm

with PORPOISE SPIT

Melbourne post-punk grunge trio, Moody Beaches are hitting the road in support of their anticipated debut LP, Weird Friends - which was released early August via Poison City Records. Capturing the loud and urgent delivery that the band is known for, their recent singles Guns, Weird Friends and Modes have been widely embraced by Rage TV, Double J, national community radio and audiences alike. Raw, brooding and at times - scathing, Moody Beaches channels the loud-quiet-loud dynamic of early Pixies and the harmony-driven vocal hooks of The Breeders. Featuring members of La Bastard and Hot Wings, Moody Beaches have forged a strong reputation as a vital addition to Melbourne’s underground DIY scene in their short 12 months as an entity. Moody Beaches are taking their broody live headline show across the east coast, with support from an inclusive roster of artists to watch out for.

TAYLOR SHERIDAN

Grand Final Eve Fri 28th Sept 8:30pm

Singer-songwriter Taylor Sheridan from rural Victoria is someone that has always had music run through his veins. His career started by entering talent competitions all over the country trying to mimic his idols such from Stevie Wonder. His early teen years saw the singer change it up and start playing guitar which would lead to a new unique sound and a love of songwriting. After leaving high school he knew that music would be a big part of his life but unsure of which avenue he would take or where it would lead. Over the last 5 years, he has written and recorded two EPs, played sold out shows and has toured the county. Taylor is currently working on new material but you can be sure that he will be playing his unique acoustic/soulful sound somewhere near you.

FRASER A. GORMAN

Sat 1st Sep 8:30pm

To coincide with the release of his sophomore album ‘Easy Dazy’ out July 13 on Caroline Australia, Fraser A. Gorman has announced a national Australian tour kicking off in Adelaide on August 18 and finishing in Brisbane on September 28.

‘Easy Dazy' - the follow up to Fraser’s debut album ‘Slow Gum’ - was recorded at Head Gap with producer Nicolas Vernhes (War on Drugs, Silver Jews, Cat Power) and Melbourne musician Dan Luscombe (The Drones). The record also features guest musician friends including members of King Gizzard, Leah Senior, Anika Ostendorf (Hachiku) and Hollie Joyce.

Gorman's songwriting builds around his ability to convey his life, hopes, and fears openly with sun-drenched tones and lyrical wit. Sonically, the album has a warm and timeless feel. Taking a slight step away from the country folk vibes of his previous releases, 'Easy Dazy’ is more laid-back Americana with a driving pop sensibility. Tasteful horn arrangements sprinkled on a few tracks evoke the vibe of contemporary blue-eyed soul and the lush background vocals evoke the sound somewhere between Transformer era Lou Reed and Bill Fay's 'Omega Day'.

‘Easy Dazy’ will be out July 13, 2018 and is available HERE on Caroline Australia
